Question #35: Where can I find inmate information?

The State of Florida's Inmate Population Information Search is easy to find and easier to use, but what about other state's? How about inmates of Federal prisons? Does anyone have any experience doing these kind of searches that they can share? Please give us your thoughts!

  1. One new feature at the JSO site is an inmate search for the local jail. The link is http://inmatesearch.jaxsheriff.org/ (or you can go to the JSO site on the city web page and link to "inmate information search" on the left side of the page). There you can search for people in jail or all (including people released on bond, etc).

  2. Some helpful tools that citizens can go to is the Federal Bureau of Prisons is http://www.bop.gov .
Florida Department of Corrections website is http://www.dc.state.fl.us
You can also go to http://www.50states.com. It will show you a list of all kinds of links to go to including local law enforcement pages and such.
